WASHINGTON (7/19/07)--Think twice before opening that E-Card--a fake one is being spammed worldwide and it has a nasty computer virus just waiting to be unleashed with the click of your mouse. The greeting is a replica of the well-known Hallmark E-Card or MyPostcards.com. The recipient is instructed to click on a link to view the greeting card. However, the link goes to the hacker's website and opens a file called "postcard.exe." Opening an "executable" file from an unknown source could have the consequence of downloading a Trojan or other unwanted program that damages your computer and creates a security risk. Don't do it (consumeraffairs.com July 9)
